Meet your Teacher :)
My name is Lindsey Smith. My journey started here in the Lewis-Clark Valley in 1986. I was raised in the most loving family a girl could ask for with two younger sisters who mean the world to me. I spent my high school and junior college years in the San Juan Islands after my dad accepted a teaching position there in 2002. I followed in my dad's footsteps and landed back here in Lewiston to receive my teaching degree from Lewis-Clark State College. |
When I'm not in the classroom, I love to be outdoors! I love hiking, running and chasing sunsets for the perfect panorama picture or time lapse video! This was an exciting summer for me! I married my best friend (Morgan) and did a lot of traveling. I spent my summer vacationing in the San Juan Islands, New Orleans, Louisiana, Priest Lake, Southern Idaho, and San Diego, California! Some of my travel was for fun and some was spent teaching and learning from other educators from around the nation! I love to try new restaurants and food, so the Jambalaya and Seafood Gumbo in Louisiana was a favorite for me! I have two step children. Garrett is eight and Sophia is nine. They both go to school in Post Falls, Idaho and spend every weekend here with us. We love to be outside, hang out at the park, or walk our dogs. We have a wild, one year old Chocolate Lab named Mac and a furry little Miniature Schnauzer named Sawyer.

This is my 11th year teaching at Webster Elementary. It has been an amazing ride! During my time here, I have been an Extended Reading Time teacher, Gifted and Talented Facilitator and have spent the past 7 years teaching 5th and 6th grade. I am also a Technology Focus Teacher for the Lewiston School District. It is in the moments where I'm in the classroom with these young learners, that I truly come alive and am reminded of the goodness in the world. Teaching is, without a doubt, my passion.
I believe in people.
I believe that deep down, everyone wants to be kind and to succeed and fulfill their wildest and seemingly impossible dreams. In room 2, I spend every day working to show these kids that they are worth it and that their ideas matter. We are equals and I cannot wait to learn and grow through the next year with them. By the end, this group of randomly selected kids will become family with an unbreakable bond. There is strength in community and collaboration. They will have forever friends in each other and in me. |
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
